The Baldivis Children’s Forest (BCF) is an area of 19.79ha located approximately 50km south of Perth at 1399 Mandurah Road, Baldivis, Western Australia. It includes remnant tuart woodlands and a portion of the Conservation Category wetland Outridge Swamp. In 2000 this site was chosen for revegetation activities following concerns by local school children about the clearing of bushland in the Baldivis district for housing. The partnerships between the City of Rockingham, local industry, business, schools and community groups have grown since this time. The site is now the focus for annual planting, Nyoongar cultural workshops, school activity days, community workshops. It provides the opportunity for children to direct and be involved in the management, on-ground conservation and education initiatives at this site. We hope that the Baldivis Children's Forest will continue to provide a haven for flora and fauna, and be explored by the community for both its educational and recreational values.
